It’s a slow week on the DVD front, so I’m taking the opportunity to steer my MSN DVD column in a slightly unusual direction, going through the various Titanic movies circulating on disc. The centenary of the disaster is this Saturday, so it seemed like the right time.
It occurs to me now that I should have included the 1943 German propaganda feature produced at no small expense by Joseph Goebbels; I didn’t think it was available, but it turns out Kino released a DVD several years back. I’ve never actually seen it, so I guess that’s my homework for April 14th …
How ironic that Goebbels made films, one of them is released by Kino, yet Operation Kino is the same which sought to send the Inglorious Basterds to kill him in France?
Curiouser and curiouser…
