After saddening West Enders with its sorrowful closure last summer, the Revue Cinema is reopening tonight! Yay!
No, really, yay. This is great news; the city needs as many repertory screens as it can get, the better to give audiences another chance to see the smaller movies that inevitably get buried by the flood of major-studio pictures week after week.
(I’m not entirely sure that “Hairspray” is the best example of this, but I’ll make an exception since the film was shot nearby.)
Tonight’s premiere screening is sold out, but you can still get a ticket to the after-party; check the website for details.
