A 34-year-old Wal-Mart worker was trampled to death yesterday morning as customers overran his store in search of 5 am “Black Friday” bargains.
Okay, we knew this was bound to happen eventually, what with the escalating stories about “those crazy consumers!!!” every year, and the whole clutching, grabbing mob thing that happens whenever people see the words “limited quantities” on a flyer.
It’s still obscene.
That’s all.
I can’t wait for when the next riot at a soccer match happens. Or for when the next riot at a Hindu temple or on the road to Mecca happens. Then we’ll have a post from you entitled “You Stay Classy, Europe,” or “You Stay Classy, India,” or “You Stay Classy, Muslims.” (Those crazy fans!! Those crazy pilgrims!!) Right? Right?
I suspect I shouldn’t hold my breath.
If it happens at the gift shop, then sure.
It’s difficult to take offence before (or in place of) reading something potentially offensive, I see ‘cc’ has put that extra bit of effort into the task at hand.
So…go for the breath-holding, let’s not do anything by half-measures.
