This week on Someone Else’s Movie, I welcome my dear friend Adam Nayman — formerly of Eye Weekly and The Grid, currently of Cinema Scope and Reverse Shot, and most prominently the author of The Coen Brothers: This Book Really Ties the Films Together — for a warm conversation about Fargo.
It’s a good pick, serving as a locus for a conversation about the morality and compassion reverberating through the brothers’ entire filmography – and though I was worried about doing another Coens joint so soon after an episode on No Country for Old Men (itself arriving just a few months after the Big Lebowski episode), of course Adam found new ways into the material. He literally wrote the book on it, after all.
Check it out, why don’tcha? You can subscribe to the show on Apple Podcasts, Google Playand Stitcher, stream it on Spotify or just download the episode directly from the web. And if you’re in Toronto this Friday, drop by the Lightbox at 9:15 pm to see Adam introduce Fargo on a proper big screen. I understand there’ll be a book signing afterward, as well.
