“The Simpsons Movie” flat-out ruled the weekend box-office, grossing $71.9 million in three days. So much for the idea that the show’s fans had abandoned it in recent years.

And yes, I know everyone’s using the same headline in reporting the news. Kind of backs up my point about “The Simpsons” having shaped our cultural landscape, doesn’t it?
