Look, I’m not going to say that appearing on Someone Else’s Movie is a springboard to winning prestigious industry awards … but, well, the facts don’t lie.

Tatiana Maslany did the podcast; she has an Emmy now. Miles Dale did the show and won the frickin’ Oscar for Best Picture. And just days after she recorded the episode I’m releasing this week, Jasmin Mozaffari was named Best Director for her terrific first feature Firecrackers at the 2019 Canadian Screen Awards.

So, yes, I’ve been sitting on this week’s podcast since March. But the movie Jasmin picked — Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides — is sort of timeless, so it all works out. It’s a good one. Give it a listen.
