Hey, remember when I went to Washington last month for a couple of days? It was a trip to see the new “Casablanca” restoration at the Smithsonian Institution in the company of Stephen Bogart, son of Humphrey (and Lauren Bacall), and film critic and Warner supplemental-material mainstay Richard Schickel.
The restoration is pretty lovely, and the appeal of “Casablanca” is as strong as ever, which I discussed with Bogart and Schickel in this MSN Movies piece. Just the thing for a mild Saturday morning, no?

Gerry Perry was one of my film school professors, but I haven’t kept up with him. I had no idea he made a documentary. If you’re going to be on that panel with him this weekend, can you ask him if it will play in the Boston area again?
