It’s always fun to get a couple together for an episode of Someone Else’s Movie, and this week I get to talk to Vladimir Jon Cubrt and Nicole Maroon — who co-star in the new drama Luba, which Vlad wrote and produced — to talk about the clockwork timing and slightly problematic comedy of John Cleese and Charles Crichton’s 1988 farce A Fish Called Wanda.
It was a pleasure to listen to them bounce off one another, and I tried my best not to cough over the best moments. (We recorded this a month ago, when I was still dealing with that damn cold. I’m mostly recovered now.) And Nicole had some interesting observations about the funny/sexy divide that’s ruining comedy casting, too.
You should check it out! Subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Google Play and Stitcher to get the episode instantly, or stream it on Spotify, or just download it directly from the web. And maybe dig up your old DVD of A Fish Called Wanda. It mostly holds up! Mostly.
