This week on Someone Else’s Movie, I tee up the What the Film Festival by featuring alumnus Zak Tatham, who brought Space Breakers there in 2016.
And Zak picked a film that just bristles with potential: William Friedkin’s Sorcerer, the 1977 remake of Wages of Fear that would have been hailed as a grim classic if not for the misfortune of opening in the summer of Star Wars, when no one had time for powerhouse formalist filmmaking. We talk about it. That’s what we do.
Please forgive the coughing; I was getting over a cold. I cut out as much of it as I could.
