I’m not sure why, but the internet is running awfully slow for me this morning, so between that and the pile of Hot Docs DVDs demanding to be watched, I’m making a very short post instead of my usual Friday movie roundup.

So here are links to my reviews of “Leatherheads” and “Under the Same Moon“, neither of which rates more than a shrug; Paramount’s decision not to screen “The Ruins” for critics until 10 pm last night meant I had to let that one slide, despite being awfully curious to see how Scott Smith’s extremely internal novel could possibly work as a movie.

Also opening today: “Kenny”, “Sex and Death 101” and Martin Scorsese’s Rolling Stones documentary, “Shine a Light”. I’ll catch up to them eventually. Oh, and “Nim’s Island”, whatever the hell that is.

Okay, enough typing, back to the documentaries …
