Soooo … um … after almost a decade of loathsome behavior and tormented motion-picture work, Mel Gibson made a pretty entertaining movie. And perhaps reflecting that his recent attempts to rehabilitate his image did not prove all that successful, “Get the Gringo” goes straight to video. The guy can’t catch a break.
I grapple with this curious state of affairs in this week’s MSN DVD column. Hopefully you won’t hold it against me.
Oh, and I almost forgot; it’s Wednesday, so that means another evening of Harbourfront Free Flicks. Come down to the WestJet stage at 9 pm tonight and join me for Leon Gast’s terrific “When We Were Kings“. You won’t regret it, unless of course the Gardiner collapses on you while you’re walking down to the lake. But let’s not think about that just now.
