The Long Midnight

This week’s MSN DVD column digs into Deepa Mehta’s problematic adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s  Midnight’s Children. It’s not a column I particularly enjoyed writing, but it’s honest, so there’s that.

Seriously, we as a nation really need to talk about the way Oscar nominations make Canadian filmmakers bulletproof. It’s not helping Atom Egoyan, either.
