Through the miracle of WiFi, and the little pull-out desks tucked into the armrests of theater seats throughout the Palais des Festivals, I am writing this from inside the Lumiere auditorium, where the day’s first film — Arnaud Desplechin’s “Un Conte de Noel” — is about to begin. Isn’t technology awesome? I can work and wake up at the same time!
