I may have bitten off a little more than ought to be chewing in this week’s NOW, with some Hot Docs preview stuff, various reviews and what I shall politely describe as “a crapload” of interviews.
From last year’s TIFF: My conversations with Whit Stillman and Greta Gerwig & Analeigh Tipton, director and stars of “Damsels in Distress”, and with Karine Vanasse and Rossif Sutherland & Leonard Farlinger, the stars and director of “I’m Yours”. And from just a couple of weeks ago, a talk with Jane Goodall on her Toronto promotional stop for DisneyNature’s “Chimpanzee”.
Yup: Jane freaking Goodall.
And in a more immediate vein, here’s a quick look at two new Hot Docs programs, Rise Against and Nightvision, and our annual Ten to Watch feature, where we shine a light on some titles we either really like or really want to see. Can you figure out which ones I wrote this year?
I’m guessing that you wrote the entries for Detropia and Gambler. Any others?
Nice work! “Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry” and “Shut Up and Play the Hits” were the others.
