This week’s MSN DVD column — up a little later than usual — finds me using my internet bully pulpit to introduce my readers to “Modra” and “Down Terrace”. And if those titles ring a bell, you can go back and check out my NOW interviews with their directors, Ingrid Veninger and Ben Wheatley.
(Incidentally, yes, I know I misidentified the title of “The Thin Blue Line” as “The Thin Red Line” — hopefully it’ll be corrected by the time you click on the link. I take full responsibility, but I blame all the Malick chatter coming out of Cannes.)
Speaking of NOW, if you pick up the new issue you’ll find my interviews with Sam Worthington and Eva Mendes, who make a very attractive extramarital couple in Massy Tadjedin’s “Last Night” this week; I also talked to Joel McConvey, Geoff Morrison and Ryan Noth, producers of “The National Parks Project”, which kicks off its limited theatrical engagement with a big concert thing tonight at the Royal.
Oh, and I sat down with Naomie Harris, kicker of zombie ass in “28 Days Later …” and now the star of “The First Grader”. I enjoyed our conversation a lot more than I enjoyed the movie. It’s always weird when that happens.
I was pretty busy last week, huh? Well, that’s nothing compared to how busy I am this week. Seriously, it’s crazy. I barely had time to write this. Tomorrow’s movie roundup may well be a photograph of me weeping at the keyboard.
So, um, talk to you later!
