Put ‘Em Up

On this week’s episode of Someone Else’s Movie, a couple of guys who made a boxing movie come on the show to talk about the boxing movie.

Or at least one of the two. (The other one was already taken.) But given that Prem Singh and Michael Pugliese wrote the true-life boxing drama Tiger for themselves to star in, it makes sense that they’d go for John G. Avildsen’s Rocky — which, of course, is the film that launched Sylvester Stallone’s career as a writer and actor. (And won a few Oscars, and launched a franchise, and so on and so forth.)

I don’t know whether Michael and Prem have similar expectations for their movie, but they’re certainly fans of Stallone’s, and we had an engaging and reasonably wide-ranging conversation about it, and the seven movies that followed it into theatres. Want to join us?
