AMC has opened a new megaplex at Yonge and Dundas — a gargantuan thing, with two dozen digital screens and state-of-the-art sound and shiny floors and many convenient refreshment stations.
They gave me a tour. I wrote about it on the NOW blog. Perhaps you would be interested in reading it.
I find it very cool that Ryerson U will hold lectures in the theatres in the mornings (it was a stipulation in the original agreement for AMC to use Ryerson’s old car park space).
Maybe the idea’s not new, but I thought it was a brilliant use of theatre space when not used for films. And the students get comfortable seats and a big cup holder.
