This week’s MSN DVD column is up nice and early, giving George Clooney’s proficient political drama “The Ides of March” a little love while everyone else is talking about his Golden Globe win for “The Descendants”.
“Ides” isn’t Clooney’s best film, but it’s a solid entertainment — predictable, sure, but in a highly satisfying manner. I still don’t understand why it came up short at awards season … although there’s always the possibility it clicked with the Academy, and we just haven’t heard yet.
It’s a thought, right? It’s a thought.
