Mecha Milestones

Home taping makes the Autobots cryI had to go to the megaplex for a screening last night, and found myself surrounded by people lined up an hour in advance to see “Transformers“. On a Wednesday night. By Megatron’s greasy sack, this thing is going to make money.

I guess we’ll have to accept that nothing can stop the rise of Michael Bay; it’ll be him and the cockroaches after the apocalypse. And the cockroaches won’t be entertained, either.

Anyway, for those of you wondering whether things could have been worse, well … of course it could: The filmmakers could have made room for these guys.

  1. I’m not about to start a facebook group in protest of your review, but really I think you’re railing on Transformers far too hard. I dislike Michael Bay just as much as anyone else who can read above a third grade level, but Transformers delivered the most enjoyable movie experience I’ve had in quite a while.

Sure, the acting isn’t great, and the story is incidental at most, but the movie is fun; a lot of fun! The movie felt like great value for my money, and I walked out of the theater with a smile. Isn’t that more than enough?
