Feeling Assaulted

In this week’s NOW, I do that thing where I run through a whole bunch of film festivals in  a relatively small space and try to highlight the good stuff. And there was a lot of good stuff this year, so it took longer than usual.

And over on the website, writer-director Ari Aster tells me all about the making of Hereditary, his acclaimed new horror movie that’s maybe not as great as everyone is  saying, but is still awfully good. (Sorry it took so long to get up there.)

Also awfully good, by the way, is Antoine Bourges’ Fail to Appear, which is premiering tonight at the Lightbox with Antoine in attendance for a Q&A. That’ll be good. You should go to that if you can.
