Yup, Will Smith still rules the house on the Fourth of July; “Hancock” grossed $66 million over the weekend, for a cumulative take of $107.3 million since it opened Tuesday night.
Of course, it helps that it was essentially running unopposed, with no other major contender opening against it; the rest of the weekend box-office list reads like a photocopy of last week’s, with “WALL-E”, “Wanted”, “Get Smart!” following in sequence, and “The Love Guru” disappeared from our collective memory.
So that’s something.
