I’ve been a fan of Phil Iscove and Kenny Neibart’s Podcast Like It’s 1999 ever since it launched — Phil did an episode of Someone Else’s Movie three years ago, on Curtis Hanson’s Wonder Boys, and it was a great conversation about a movie that’s sort of fallen down the memory hole.
This week, I get to return the favor … though the film we discussed isn’t quite as worthy of rediscovery. I helped Phil and Kenny unpack Neil Jordan’s deeply flawed, still-kinda-fascinating In Dreams in what turned out to be an epic conversation that somehow also involved Cats, Joker, 1917, the Oscars, The Crying Game and about a dozen other things.
Wanna listen? Of course you do. If you don’t, Werewolf Robert Downey will haunt your nightmares.
