The 43rd edition of the Toronto International Film Festival — my 30th as an accredited member of the media, if I’ve got the math right — starts up again today. and I am already deep, deep into it.
How deep? I’ve already logged some 35 features and a few dozen shorts over the last few weeks, one of which led to an interview with Riz Ahmed, an incandescent talent I was very, very happy to put on the cover of NOW’s TIFF issue.
Read it, and then seeĀ The Sisters Brothers. He’s great in it, and the movie is not at all what you think it will be.
And don’t forget to keep an eye on the NOW TIFF site throughout the festival; we’ll be adding new coverage as often as we can, and you also get to track my deterioration over the course of eleven very long days. Won’t that be fun?
(That was a trick question.)
