Sometimes first place isn’t enough. Neill Blomkamp’s Chappie opened at number one this weekend, but grossed just $13.3 million — which is downright feeble, given that Focus opening to $19.1 million last weekend was considered pretty soft.

But maybe people just wanted to stay outside; this was the first handful of days in eight or nine weeks that were pleasant enough go for a walk in, if you were in the Northeast. And given that Focus took second place with $10.02 million, and the third-place opener The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel grossed just $8.6 million, it certainly seems that movies weren’t on the top of anyone’s to-do list this weekend.

And Vince Vaughn’s Unfinished Business flat-out tanked, opening in tenth place with just $4.8 million.

Maybe we should finally think about growing up, Vince. God knows it’s time.
