The entirely terrible 300: Rise of an Empire opened big this weekend, earning $45.1 million and demonstrating that you can make a great deal of money so long as you appeal to the right demographic. (In this case, those undiscerning moviegoers who really, really liked 300.)
Mr. Peabody & Sherman did okay for itself with $32.5 million, landing in second place. And Non-Stop dropped to third place with $15.4 million, which is a perfectly fine figure and if you say otherwise Liam Neeson will punch you in the throat.
Anyway, I don’t have much else to say beyond “300: Rise of an Empire is really bad and people should feel bad for spending money to see it.” Hey, how about that True Detective finale?
