The final chapter is upon us, and not a moment too soon — because as I explain in my review of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, I am just so done with Middle-Earth.
Honestly, done.

Just wondering, if Peter Jackson had adapted The Hobbit as a miniseries for TV, would people still be complaining of its length? I get that it could have been made in two movies, but I’m one of those people who don’t mind that it’s three movies.
New ZealandMiddle Earth rocks so I guess I’m happy with your NNNN review. You can read “The Hobbit” aloud in under three hours, so there’s no reason it needs to be six …
Fair point. Still looking forward to it though. (BTW, there was a cute Office/Hobbit mashup on SNL last Saturday when Martin Freeman was the host…not sure if you saw it, but they seemed to take pains to get the Office tone right, which was the more important half to get right for the skit.)
