TIFF has a way of swallowing one whole; when your entire world is reduced to four square blocks and your consciousness is eroded by entire days in the dark, it’s easy to forget there’s life beyond downtown Toronto.

And indeed, while I was talking to Ryan Gosling on the weekend, people were going to see other movies. Specifically “The Possession”, “Lawless” and “The Words”, which took the top three spots at the North American box-office, respectively. This makes me sad, because those films are not very good — I very nearly used my single question at yesterday’s “Silver Linings Playbook” press conference to ask Bradley Cooper what the hell he was thinking, helping “The Words” get made. Yeah, the filmmakers are his friends, but … I mean, come on.

Anyway, plenty more interviewing to do today, including Hannah Geist, Forrest J. Ackerman (psuedonymously) and back-to-back chats with Ramona Flowers and Stacey Pilgrim. Feels like a good day ahead.
