Love, Hate

Today’s episode of Someone Else’s Movie may trigger deja vu in some of you, since it tackles a movie I’ve already discussed at length … on someone else’s podcast.

I tackled The Night of the Hunter with Jeremy Lalonde on his show Black Hole Films last spring, and now I get to do it on my own podcast with Julian Richings, whose mellifluous voice is an absolute delight in the context of discussing Charles Laughton’s Gothic masterpiece.

Oh, and thanks to Jeremy’s show I know not enough people have seen The Night of the Hunter, so if you count yourself among them please watch the movie before you listen to this episode. You’ll thank me, I promise.

And when you’re ready, it’s waiting: Subscribe on Apple PodcastsGoogle Play and Stitcher and get the episode immediately, or download it directly from the web.

You might also want to grab the latest episode of NOW What, featuring biostatistician Ryan Imgrund, whose Twitter feed has been a sanity-saver in the last couple of weeks, as I’ve braced myself for a spike in COVID cases tied to Ontario’s entry into Stage III. It hasn’t happened yet, and it turns out there are some very good reasons for that, which Ryan is more than happy to walk me through. The short version: Don’t let your guard down, but things might be a little less awful than we feared.

That’s nice, isn’t it? I certainly think so.
