No interviews from me in this week’s NOW, but I do dig into the TIFF Next Wave and Reel Artists festivals, each of which features some really good programming choices this year.

Honestly, two summers ago when I walked by LACMA and saw that big rock just sitting there, I never would have believed I would someday watch a 90-minute documentary about it … or that said documentary would be both charming and illuminating. Life’s funny like that, I guess.
