Happiness, Where Are You?

'Group therapy' had a different meaning in RomaniaMy latest Sympatico/MSN DVD column is up, looking at two major titles from last year’s Toronto film festival: “4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days” and “Control”.

Well, three, actually, since Alliance is also releasing Grant Gee’s “Joy Division” this week, as the obvious complement to Anton Corbijn’s wrenching, majestic biopic of Ian Curtis.

If you managed to miss these films when they played on the big screen — which was probably the case, I’m sorry to say — you really should catch up to them now.

I mean, what else are you going to watch this week? “Fool’s Gold”? “Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins”? Really, you might as well flush your money down the toilet.
