After being passed over in category after category, 12 Years a Slave was named Best Picture, Drama, at last night’s Golden Globes, wowing the world and generally making up for American Hustle plowing through the competition in the Musical or Comedy categories.
It almost even makes up for the ridiculous $38.5 million opening weekend of the throbbing camo-covered hard-on that is Peter Berg’s Lone Survivor.
Almost.
Any theories on how Bono’s song managed to beat out Please Mr. (OUTER) Kennedy (SPACE) or even Let It Go (if they were going to go very old school about it and give it to a big belt-it-out crowd-pleaser)? Did the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press just hope they could hang out with Bono?
