No, I didn’t forget — I’ve just been busy. Christopher Plummer died, so I had to write an obit for the NOW site, and then do a couple of television hits about him. There was this CTV News Channel appearance yesterday afternoon, and then I was the first guest on Ginella Massa’s Canada Tonight last night. (They put me ahead of Atom Egoyan, that was cool.)
But anyway. Here’s what you really wanted: This weekend’s What to Watch page, and the latest episode of NOW What, in which Kelsey convenes a round table with all five of her Black Futures Month subjects to discuss the nature of their activism and their plans to make Toronto a better, more diverse city. I am rooting for them.
Oh, and I also ran my annual reminder that the Golden Globes are pretty dumb. Because they are. And that was everything, I guess, because we spent most of this week prepping the brand-new NOW Streaming newsletter, which launches on Substack later this afternoon.
Want to sign up for it? You should! I write the whole damn thing, and it’s going to offer exclusive content every week — recommendations, reviews, double features from fun guest “programmers” and cheap shots at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for as long as they pretend to be relevant. Come on aboard, it’ll be fun.
