Sympatico/MSN’s movies section is running a horror theme all month, building up to Halloween. Fair enough.

Trouble is, there was no big horror title opening this weekend, so I had to find something else to anchor my movie column — and I thought it might be fun to pit originals against remakes.

Because, really, everyone deserves to be reminded about the awesomeness of Chuck Russell’s “The Blob” around this time of year.
