300

… yup, today marks the 300th episode of Someone Else’s Movie. No, I don’t know how I got here either. But I do know who the guest is; It’s Michelle Latimer, who’s brought two projects to TIFF this year, the documentary Inconvenient Indian and the premiere of her new CBC series Trickster.

Rad interviewed her for last week’s NOW cover; you should read that when you have a chance. But for right now, she’s on the podcast talking about Céline Sciamma’s Girlhood and its tangled, energized perspective on female empowerment.

There’s a little echo in the file, but it’s a pretty good listen. Subscribe on Apple PodcastsGoogle Play and Stitcher and get the episode immediately, or download it directly from the web.

And then feel free to catch the newest episode of NOW What, where I talk to filmmaker Kire Paputts — who did his own SEMcast almost exactly a year ago — about his struggle to get The Last Porno Show into the world on VOD. It’s an interesting conversation about one of the murkier corners of online distribution, and you may learn a thing or two.

Oh, and if you’re still chasing the TIFF 2020 dragon, NOW’s master list is right here, and still being updated every day. I’m exhausted.
