We Are Not Alone

My apologies for this week’s episode of Someone Else’s Movie, which much shorter than it should have been and also was recorded in less than optimal conditions … but that’s the reality of a press stop, I suppose. You take what you can get.

And it was worth it, because now we have Roland Emmerich — you know, the guy who made Stargate, Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow — talking about Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the movie that made his own effects-heavy epics possible, and the structure of which continues to  influence his work to this day, as you’ll see when Midway opens everywhere this Friday.

We did not have a lot of time, but we made the most of it. Subscribe on Apple PodcastsGoogle Play and Stitcher to get the episode instantly, or stream it on Spotify, or just download it directly from the web. And check out the way the new theme song kinda runs in the background for a bit! It took me a full day to figure that out!
