Soderbergh’s Bastards

Ready for the second half of my Black Hole Films double-feature?

Last week, you heard me on Jeremy LaLonde’s podcast with Alex Paxton-Beesley, David Tompa and Ryan Goldhar discussing sex, lies, and videotape and its watershed status within the American indie movement; this week, the conversation continues with Neil LaBute’s Your Friends & Neighbors, which takes Soderbergh’s multicharacter concept in a very different direction.

Fun fact: We recorded this episode weeks before New York’s MCC Theater dropped LaBute as its playwright in residence, but I don’t think you’d find any defenders among us.
