Last year, I tried really hard to get people to  go see Arthur Christmas on the big screen. It did not work. But now that it’s on disc, people have another chance to rediscover Aardman Animation’s delightful holiday fantasy … so I’m appealing to my MSN readership in this week’s extra-special DVD column.

Unfortunately, our proximity to the holidays means I couldn’t feature this week’s other really great stuff — and Killer Joe, Pitch Perfect and Premium Rush are all really great, as I may have mentioned during their theatrical engagements. So you should go and pick those up when you have a moment.

Oh, and because it’s that time of year when stuff opens on Wednesdays, The Guilt Trip and Disney’s 3D reissue of Monsters, Inc. are in theatres now, just to complicate our lives. I mean, I still have to work today, don’t you?
