A Moment for the Soul


In this week’s MSN DVD column, I discuss the rapture of Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life”, which is looking more and more like my pick for the year’s best film. You should bring home the Blu-ray if you’re even the slightest bit interested.

Fun fact: At almost the exact moment the column went online, I was discussing Malick with Martin Sheen, who starred in the director’s first film, “Badlands”. I have the weirdest life.

Less fun fact: “Badlands” is the only one of Malick’s films that isn’t available in HD. Surely someone at Warner can get on that …
